this august, Indonesia will have two great local movie, full with Hollywood's touch: Merantau and Merah Putih! Merantau will released on august 6th and Merah Putih on 13th. You should watch both of it!

Doctor Fish!

look at those small fish? they quite active and wild, you know..
they bite to clean your dead skin foot!

i wasn't this calm, honestly...i screamed when i put my legs inside the pool!

have you ever try the Fish Therapy service at spa or any reflexology? well, i did. Hundreds of Garra Rufa fish will actively kiss your leg and bite it as soon as you put your foot in the warm pool. And i mean seriously they bite, because when the fish do that, they actually eat your (dead)skin and automatically remove it from your skin, which is good and healthy. But i have to admit that the first sensation of being bitten and kissed by these fish was really uncomfortable. It felt really weird, just like hundreds of tiny dots suddenly touched your skin foot, it's not hurt but it's just more that just feeling tickled. After 30 minutes therapy, you wash your foot with clean water, no need soap. Then you'll feel that your skin foot is softer that before and cleaner. Cause it is, the fish did all of it. I tried this at Kenko, Senayan City, for Rp 120.000/30 minutes. One thing that also makes me feel uncomfortable is that we share the pool with others, meaning: one pool can be used by lots of guests at the same time. I'm just afraid that it isn't hygienic, i mean i'm not sure that all the guests have healthy foot at that time. So, if you have cut or open wound in your foot, even the small one (or worse if you have skin problem), you should wait until the wound heals. I just don't think that the pool is a hundred percent clean (both for you and other guests)!

Ini acara mereka yang keempat loh, terakhir tahun 2007, kalau masih inget sih salah satu agendanya adalah menyimpan media untuk memutar video di tempat-tempat publik kayak stasiun, halte, mall, dll (salah satunya ada di stasiun Sudirman, makanya gw tahu, hehehe...). Nah acara ini intinya tentang karya kreatif apapun dalam media yang namanya video. Agendanya macem-macem, mulai dari pameran, workshop, diskusi, dll. 7 April kemaren ke bandung buat liputan bandoeng edisi 119-120. It's always fun melakukan yang satu ini. Selain mereview resto cafe alias makan-makan gratis buat kasih penilaian, ini kesempatan yang bagus buat gw untuk tahu spot apa yang baru di bandung, mau tempat shopping atau ya kafe resto tadi. Meski untuk halaman bandoeng gak harus tempat yang baru buka 3 bulanan, alias boleh aja tempat lama, tapi bandung selalu punya tempat2 baru yang seru. Kali ini, setelah bener2 bosyen sama yang namanya distro atau butik (meski ide kreatif anak bandung meski diakui gak ada matinya), gw mendatangi sebuah tempat yang namanya Katallog. Gw gak bisa bilang tempat ini distro atau butik, karena konsep dan idenya emang gak seumum itu. Temen gw waktu di Gogirl dulu, Distri, actually terlibat sama Katallog ini (she is one of the creative young people from Bandung), so ini tulisan yang juga akan dimuat di Djakarta!#119 halaman Bandoeng, Mei 2009.
Baca dunk tapi yang lebih 'kudu'dilakukan adalah main dan mampir ke toko ini!
apa sih sebetulnya Katallog ini? adalah 18 orang muda yang kreatif yang masing-masing sebelumnya telah menghasilkan produk sesuai dengan bidang dan minat mereka akan seni, apapun itu. 18 orang itu bahkan telah memiliki brand sendiri, yaitu AND, BE.DA, The Institute, Kandura, Kerling, Koloni, Mega Karya, Mr.Faux, N.G.P.T, Saiakamiu, dan Wabbit. Katallog pun akhirnya menjadi wadah menampung semua karya tadi. Responnya? Dalam kurang lebih sebulan, rupanya banyak yang menyadari keunikan produk-produk Katallog hingga akhirnya membelinya. Itu pula yang dirasakan tim bandoeng! Kaos-kaos yang digantung kelihatan berbeda dengan motif artwork ‘babi ngepet’ (Rp 90ribu/N.G.P.T) ataupun handmade t-shirt yang nyaman (Koloni). Di meja depan, tas-tas kain patchwork (Rp 135ribu/Kerling) yang orisinil juga tak mungkin terlewat dari pandangan. Belum lagi, sebuah jam berbentuk jaring ikan bertongkat lengkap dengan hiasan burung dan sebuah kursi yang memastikan Katallog bukan melulu soal fashion. Dompet kertas coklat, dompet bulu (Wabbit), statement style necklaces (The Institute), syal bulu (Furu-Furu), keramik (Kandura), jam tangan (Mega Karya), hingga koleksi fashion dari AND dan yang lainnya membuat acara belanja jadi lebih fun. Kalaupun akhirnya Anda membeli tas, baju, atau gelas keramik yang kelihatannya bisa dilakukan di toko mana saja, kami jamin di sini Anda bisa mendapatkan produk yang beda dari yang lain. Ketika diliput, Katallog sedang menyiapkan diri untuk Grand Opening untuk Mei ini. Sepertinya sih, koleksi produk-produk baru bakal dipersiapkan untuk digelar di masa itu.
